New Head Appointed to Georgia’s National Exams Center
Tamar Memanishvili has been appointed as the new head of Georgia’s National Assessment and Examinations Center (NAEC), replacing Nino Tsereteli, who had held the post since February 2024.
Georgian Dream Education Minister Givi Mikanadze and his First Deputy Levan Ghirdziashvili introduced Memanishvili to the agency’s staff on January 20, the ministry said.
Memanishvili previously held several senior positions, including head of the administration at the Ministry of Education, and head of the Analysis and Institutional Development Division in Parliament’s Department of Human Resources and Institutional Development. She also led the Human Resources Management Division at the Academy of the Interior Ministry.
Her appointment comes after dozens of employees at NAEC were dismissed as part of “reorganization,” in what many believe to be part of a wider political purge in the civil service.
