Four Georgians Reportedly Detained in Large-Scale Police Operation in Poland

Four Georgian citizens were detained in a large-scale law enforcement operation in Wieluń, in Poland’s Łódź region, local radio station RMF FM reported on February 10. The arrests were reportedly carried out by Warsaw police in coordination with counterterrorism units from the Border Guard Office.

Citing sources, RMF FM said the operation was carried out at the request of Lithuanian justice authorities, which issued a European Investigation Order for one of the detained Georgians wanted in Lithuania.

Details of the Lithuanian request and the reasons for the detention remain undisclosed. Civil.ge has reached out to the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for comment.
