Georgia Hosts U.S.-led Trojan Footprint 2026 Drills

Georgia is hosting the U.S.-led multinational special operations military exercise Trojan Footprint 2026, co-organized by U.S. Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR) and the Georgian Defense Forces.

As part of the exercise, conducted simultaneously across several Eastern European countries, Georgia is hosting “Black Sea Gateway 2026,” which features both land and maritime operations, the Georgian Defense Ministry said on May 13, announcing the opening of the drills.

The exercise includes servicemembers from special operations units of Georgia, the United States, Poland, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Romania.

According to the ministry, representatives of the Georgian Defense Forces, defense attachés from participating countries, and members of the NATO–Georgia Substantial Package (SNGP) core group attended the opening ceremony at the Special Operations Command base in Mukhrovani, a village outside Tbilisi.

Georgia is hosting the drills for the fourth time, having also hosted them in 2024, 2022, and 2021.
